The 2021 race season is already well and truely underway with just 26 days left until Round 1. We are hopeful that the current covid environment in New South Wales resolves itself quickly but only time will tell.
The first event at Wakefield last year was wet and cold. With the La Nina weather pattern now in play during the 2021 summer, these conditions are likely to continue (warmer would be nice) but we should get some respite for Round 2 in early April.
Rounds 3 and 4 take us to Sydney Motorsport Park with the recently upgraded lighting system, we know a couple of drivers who can't wait to race under lights but it won't be during our sprint events, likely for the Australian 1000 endurance round in May.
Rounds 5 and 6 takes us back to Goulburn and without a doubt cool temps will prevail which is when our drivers usually have a good opportunity to put down some fast laps. Who can get into the 12's this year?
Round 7 back at Sydney Motorsport Park will be the final round for the year and the series champion will take their place on our new perpetual trophy.
You may have noticed that we don't have any racing in Victoria this year. The situation with covid has made our efforts to race down south very challenging, the return to hard border closures just recently underlines the difficulties we expect going forward for some time to race outside of NSW.
So there you have it, plenty of racing locked in, all things going well, fingers and toes crossed, we have a full season of hard, but fair, door to door racing to keep us all entertained and a break from challenging times.
